Alan Harrison Obituary

Alan Clark Harrison, lovingly known as "Pempa", Age 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on March 11, 2026 at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born on October 26, 1951 in Little Rock, Arkansas to his beloved parents Eli Harrison Jr and Nelda Jean Darnell (Ashbrook).

Alan was a proud veteran who honorably served his country in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer and later as a draftsman. Following his military service, he built a career as a printing press operator and eventually worked as a graphic designer until his retirement.

Alan had a deep appreciation for the arts and spent much of his free time pursuing his creative passions. He was a talented visual artist who specialized in watercolor and pen-and-ink drawings. He also enjoyed photography and woodworking, always finding joy in creating with his hands.

Alan was a man of strong Christian faith and deeply held conservative values, Or as he would say, "MAGA".

More than anything, Alan was a devoted father and grandfather. He will be remembered for his love of family, his creativity, and his ability to always brighten a room when he entered. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Alan is survived by his two sons, Alan Matthew Harrison and wife Gaye, William Harrison and Wife Amanda; six grandchildren, Hannah Chronister and Husband Ashton, Katie Headley and Husband Hayden, Lydia Harrison, Cayden Harrison, Sophie Harrison, Zadie Harrison; three great-grandchildren, Barrett, Baker, and Maggie; one sister, Marsha LaMascus and Husband Randy; numerous Nieces and Nephews; as well as his beloved dog Sam. He is preceded in passing by his parents, Eli Harrison Jr and Nelda Jean Darnell (Ashbrook).

There will be a memorial service held in Alan's honor at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Lewis Chapel Lavaca, located at the corner of Highway 225 and Highway 96 in Lavaca, Arkansas.
