Alice Beatrice McBay, affectionately known as Ma’Dea, was born on January 23, 1935, to Levi and Rosie Lewis in Marion, Arkansas. She entered rest on October 10, 2025.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Levi Lewis and Rosie Lewis; her husband, Edward I. McBay; a son, Larry J. Lewis; sisters Ida Mae Thomas and Rosa Sims; and two brothers, Oliver Lewis and Levi Lewis Jr.
Alice worked for Oaks Lodge Nursing Home as a CNA for many years until her retirement. She accepted Jesus Christ into her life and was a member of Ninth Street Baptist Church. Alice loved her family and enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren.
Alice is survived by her four daugthers: Lana Morgan, Patricia Massey and husband Joe, Shelia Lyons, and Ella Walters; three sons: Reginald Robbins and wife Shamus, Edward L McBay, and Edmond McBay. She was also blessed to have a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Chapel on Thursday, October 23, 2025. The Funeral Service will be held at Lewis Funeral Chapel the following Friday, October 24, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., with interment to follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Fort Smith National Cemetery. Lunch will be served at Union Baptist Church in Pocola, Oklahoma. The service will be officiated by minister Tina Price, and pallbearers will be Ella Walters, Marquez Nolan, NaTyrah Massey, Fabian Lewis, Siegfried Lewis, and Ricardo Thompson.
