Andy Bong Chanthaboune, age 57, of Fort Smith, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025. He was born on September 1, 1967, in Laos, son of Mac Theung Chanthaboune and the late Viengkham Chanthaboune. Andy dedicated himself to his work, first as a skilled mechanic and later embracing life as a farmer. Above all, his greatest desire was to build a lasting legacy for his children. Andy was deeply beloved by all who knew him. His warmth, character, and the life he built were evident in the incredible outpouring of love and support shown by family and friends, many of whom have traveled from across the country to be in Fort Smith this weekend to honor his memory and support his family.
Andy is survived by his loving wife, Gail Chanthaboune; his sons, Tommy Chanthaboune and his wife Mai, and Alan Chanthaboune and his girlfriend Tanya Villalobos; and his cherished grandchildren, Marcus and Emily Chanthaboune.
He is also survived by his father, Mac Theung Chanthaboune; his sister, Air Vongsay and her husband Infeng; his brothers, Kilavanh Chanthaboune and his wife Phet, Kilavong Chanthaboune and his wife Tuk, and Acksone Chanthaboune; along with many other relatives and friends who felt his kindness.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Viengkham Chanthaboune, and his sister, Phanomkhone Khongsouvankham. He now rests with them in peace.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, and his legacy of love will live on. He will be profoundly missed by family, friends and the community.
Blessing Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2025, and Friday May 2, 2025 at Lewis Funeral Chapel, located at 4817 Kelley Hwy in Fort Smith, AR 72904. The Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2025, also at Lewis Funeral Chapel.
