Ann Henry Obituary

Sunrise December 5, 1941 - Sunset March 17, 2026

Ann Louise Phillips-Henry was born on December 5, 1941, to the late Leland Thomas Phillips and Emma (Jones) Phillips.

Oh, how she loved the Lord, Jesus. She accepted Christ at an early age. She served the church in many capacities, dedicating her time and talents. She was a long-time member of King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church, New Covenant International Christian Church, and finally First Baptist Church of Fort Smith, Arkansas, under the guidance of Pastor Dale Thompson.

She attended Lincoln High School in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She graduated from the College of the Ozarks and earned her associate degree in early childhood education. Her work experience with Norge Refrigerator Co. and Whirlpool Corporation spanned over 40 years. After retiring, she continued with side jobs to stay active. She enjoyed working in the yard and definitely playing that piano, too!

Our dearly loved mother cared for her family and children with boundless affection; she sacrificed so much to give us a better life. Her absence fills our hearts with deep sorrow, and we will miss her dearly.

She is survived by her son, Drake Dion Henry, and her daughter, Stephanie Ann Henry-Davis, both of Fort Smith, Arkansas. She also leaves to cherish her memory her granddaughters: Kimberly Y. Wilson (fiancé, James Lawrence) of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Emily J. Nealy (Robert B.), of Van Buren, Arkansas, and Ashley Dudley (Curtis) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and her great-grandson, Elijah Joe Wilson of Fort Smith, Arkansas.

She is further survived by her siblings: Maude West of Tacoma, Washington; Emma Lois Hayes of Warrenton, North Carolina; Nina Jean Delt (Melvin); and Douglas Phillips (Leisa) of Fort Smith, Arkansas; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, James Harold Henry; her brother, Harry Phillips (and sister-in-law, Irene); her sister, Carolyn Phillips; her brothers-in-law, Johnny B. West and Rev. William H. Hayes; and her grandson through marriage, Harold Joe Wilson.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith. Doug Irvin Phillips is to officiate.
