Beverly Karr Lankford, 78, of Fort Smith, went home on October 28, 2025. She was born on January 20, 1947, to Joe and Dot Karr in Altus, AR.

Beverly was married to her devoted husband, John Lankford, for over 50 years. A lifelong member of the Church of Christ, Beverly’s faith shaped her gentle and loving spirit.

Soft-spoken, kind, and meek, Beverly had a special love for children and animals. She taught elementary school for several years before dedicating her life to caring for her family as a stay-at-home mother. She always had a warm meal ready, never missed a ball game, and put up with John’s chemistry antics through the years.

She will be deeply missed by her husband, John; her daughters, Kimberly Bice (Josh) and Kara Hedrick (Scott), both of Fort Smith; and her grandchildren, Noah, Harper, Juddson, Kameron, and Luke. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Stephanie Oleson of Ferguson, MO; Jennifer Karr-Sanchez and Hayley Sanchez of Fort Smith; and Jeffrey Karr of Menlo Park, CA. She also leaves behind her beloved pets, Trevor, Travis, Laura, and Buster.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Dot Karr, and her brother, Charles Karr (Suzanne), all of Fort Smith, AR.

The family will hold a private service in her honor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Southern Christian Home in Morrilton, Arkansas, or to The Cure in Fort Smith, in memory of Beverly Karr Lankford.
