Bobby Mark Brandenburg, 59, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Baptist Health Hospital in Fort Smith.
Born on January 2, 1966, in Fort Smith, Bobby was the cherished son of the late Ruby Juanita Starr (Covert). He worked for many years at Gerber as a factory worker and forklift operator before retiring. A true outdoorsman at heart, Bobby found joy in fishing, hunting, and spending time in nature. He especially loved searching for arrowheads and treasure hunting with his metal detector.
Known for his sense of humor and warm, easygoing personality, Bobby was the kind of person who lit up every room he entered. The life of any gathering, he was always ready to lend a helping hand. His kindness, generosity, and Christian faith defined the way he lived and loved. Bobby was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a loving grandfather.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 33 years, Mary Michelle (Bivens) Brandenburg; two sons, Zachary Mark Brandenburg and Hunter Luke Brandenburg, both of Fort Smith; and one treasured grandson, Talon Brandenburg. He is also survived by his brother, Herbert Brandenburg; sister, Doris Skurdahl; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Juanita Starr; his step-father, Ed Starr; his brother, Jimmy Brandenburg; his sister, Karen Fritchie; and his maternal aunts and uncles.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Chapel, 4817 Kelley Hwy, Fort Smith, AR 72904. Funeral services will follow on Friday, April 25, at 10:00 a.m., also at Lewis Funeral Chapel, with burial to take place at Oak Cemetery, 1401 S Greenwood Ave, Fort Smith. Pastor Mike Pennington will officiate.
Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Acorn, Vernon Pulliam, Zachary Covert, Jacob Covert, Jesse Patton, and Jonathan Patton. Honorary pallbearers include Matt Brandenburg, Brayden Bivens, Robert Sanders, and Bob Nesbitt. Arrangements are under the care of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
