Carol Sue Ainsworth, age 73, passed away on March 31, 2026, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born on October 23, 1952, in Mountainburg, Arkansas, to Lewis Bradshaw and Sadie (Coleman) Bradshaw.
Carol graduated from Mountainburg High School with high honors, earning straight A’s. She married the love of her life, James Charles Ainsworth Jr., on September 28, 1970, and together they shared 55 wonderful years of marriage. Carol dedicated 29 years of her career to Rheem, where she worked on the assembly line with commitment and pride.
In her free time, Carol enjoyed creating handcrafted jewelry and had a deep love for planting flowers, gardening, and maintaining her yard. She was a devoted member of the Assembly of God faith. Carol will be remembered as a kind and loving woman who was always gracious to everyone she met. Her gentle spirit and warm heart made a lasting impression, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her mother, Sadie Bradshaw; her beloved husband, James Ainsworth Jr.; her sisters, Joyce and husband “Monk,” and Sherry and husband Tim; her brother-in-law, Bobby Ainsworth and wife Sharon; her sister-in-law, Judy Ainsworth; and her nephews, Bryan and Nicholas.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lewis Bradshaw.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith, Arkansas. A graveside service will take place at Fort Smith National Cemetery on Monday, April 6, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Services are entrusted to Lewis Funeral Chapel.
