Danny Lee Becker, 71, passed away peacefully at his home in Greenwood, Arkansas, on Thursday, April 10, 2025. Born on July 3, 1953, he was the cherished son of Arthur Michael Becker and Bridget Elizabeth (Greb) Becker. After graduating high school, Danny proudly served his country in the United States Army. He later dedicated his career to craftsmanship, working as a master carpenter. With skilled hands and a generous heart, he built, painted, and created countless pieces for friends, family, and his community. A devoted member of Sacred Heart of Mary Church in Barling, Danny lived his faith through service. He contributed his time and talents to the church, including helping construct the chapel altar and caring for the cemetery grounds. His deep love for the Lord shone through in his kindness, humility, and acts of service. Danny found great joy in traveling with his family, especially to Florida, Tennessee, California, and across the western U.S. He cherished the outdoors and spent many peaceful hours fishing and hunting with friends. Known for his wit, orneriness, and strength of character, Danny was also deeply loving, wise, and full of heart. He adored his daughters and grandchildren, always ready with advice and support.
He will be remembered as a devoted son, proud father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and loyal friend.
Danny is survived by the mother of his children, Melissa Becker; and his three beloved daughters: Dana Manion and husband Jeff of Edmond, OK; Heidi McMellon and husband Tom of Greenwood, AR; and Heather Floyd and husband John of Lavaca, AR. He also leaves behind six grandchildren: Tanner, Cooper, Zach, Kyle, Kendyl, and Camryn; and six great-grandchildren: Connor, Aubrey, Aiden, Riley, Camille, and Maizy. He is lovingly remembered by his sisters: Gladys Hicks, Virginia Butler, Sherri McCoulough, Reba Wilbanks, and Marilyn Hodges; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Bridget Becker, and his siblings: Bernice Stepp, Johnny Becker, Barb VanderLinden, Richard Becker, Clarence Becker, Bill Becker, and Mike Becker. His legacy of love, laughter, and craftsmanship lives on in all who knew him.
A Rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, May 2, 2025, at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, located at 1301 Frank St, Barling, AR 72923, with a Mass to follow. Interment will take place at Saint Mary's Cemetery in Barling, AR, following the services. A reception will be held at the church following interment. Father Matt Garrison is to officiate. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy Clayton, Lance Becker, Mark Becker, Gary Butler, Josh Teague, Glenn Anderson, Buddy Wilbanks, and Paul Walsh. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Sacred Heart of Mary Church. Services are entrusted to Lewis Funeral Chapel.
