David Bruce Reynolds, age 73, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Born on November 20, 1951, in Denver, Colorado, he was the cherished son of Margaret Louise (Spaethe) Reynolds and James Richard Reynolds. David shared 45 beautiful years of marriage with his first wife, Carole Ann (Agee) Reynolds, until her passing. Later, he was blessed to find love again with Donna Sue (Hise) Reynolds, with whom he shared nine wonderful years.
A dedicated scholar and serviceman, David graduated from Hueneme High School in Oxnard, California, and went on to earn a degree in Human Resource Management from National University in Sacramento. Additionally, he completed a Master Electronics program while serving in the United States Air Force. From October 1970 to August 1980, David served his country with honor in the U.S. Air Force. Following his military service, he worked as a civilian at McClellan Air Force Base in California before continuing his career at Southwestern Power Administration in Gore, Oklahoma.
David had a passion for life’s simple joys—whether it was his involvement in the Boy Scouts, his love for sports, his talent in the kitchen, or his enjoyment of talk shows like Rush Limbaugh and Paul Harvey. However, nothing mattered more to him than his family. A devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, David lived a life guided by faith and love.
He will be remembered as a man with a big heart—a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His eldest son, Jeremy Reynolds, captured his essence best: “Dad had a way of communicating without using words. He used his eyes to communicate his approval, his love, his appreciation, and to express how proud he was of you. He was able to convey his gratitude and make you feel the love he has for you… without making it weird.”
David is survived by his beloved spouse, Donna Sue Reynolds of Fort Smith, Arkansas; two sons, Jeremy Reynolds of Moses Lake, Washington; and Benjamin Reynolds of Fort Smith, Arkansas; two daughters, Tracey Seeley of Nampa, Idaho; and Rebecca Bowman; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind one brother, Robert Reynolds of Tuscon, Arizona; two sister, Diana Standen of Alpena, Michigan; and Debbie Brown of Fort Smith, Arkansas; and many long time friends who knew David as “Eugene.”
David is preceded in death by his dad, James Richard Reynolds; his mom, Margaret Louise Reynolds; his first wife of 45 years, Carole Ann Reynolds; his daughter, Carole Amanda Reynolds; and his sister, Sandra Jean Kraft.
A Visitation will be held on March 19, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Chapel, located at 4817 Kelley Hwy in Fort Smith, AR 72904. The Funeral Service will take place on March 20, 2025 at 11:30 a.m., also at Lewis Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow at the National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. David’s legacy of love, integrity, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
