David Lee Thornton

David Lee Thornton, Age 73, passed away August 11th, 2024 at Hopes Creek Retirement Living in Van Buren, Arkansas. Born March 5th, 1951, he was the beloved son of James (J.W.) and Doris Thornton. David loved everything about Elvis, The Beatles and Star Trek. He was an avid bowler for many years. He won several State Titles through his involvement with ARC and Special Olympics. He will be missed by all who knew him. David is survived by three nephews, Jason Phillips, Jerry Phillips, and Scott Phillips; one Niece, Kristan Reynolds; and four cousins, Tracy Fant, Steve Phillips, Sherry Witt, and Deborah Daughters. He is preceded in death by his parents, James (J.W.) and Doris Thornton; One brother, Bill Phillips; and a great friend, Sharon Henslee. A Graveside service will be held at the U. S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas at 10:00am,  Wednesday, August 21,2024. Services are under the thoughtful direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
