David Riggs Obituary

David Richard Riggs, age 82, passed away on November 29, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Born November 29, 1942, he was a beloved son of Lillis Correan Castle and Henry Davis Riggs. After high school, David attended the University of Arkansas, where he obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture. He held a long and successful career for over 30 years with Medical Holdings, and he was a proud member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). David married the love of his life, Chris Riggs, on June 28, 1963, and they spent 61 years together in marriage. In his free time, David loved to cheer on the Razorback's. As a man of faith, David was also a dedicated member of Homestead Heights Community Church in Fort Smith, as well as Windsor Park Baptist Church. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather to his cherished family. 

David is survived by his beloved wife, Chris Riggs, of the home; three children, DeAnne Peek; Richard Riggs and spouse Jennifer; and Meredith Burton and spouse Wayne; seven grandchildren, Rachael Steward and spouse Bobby; Matthew Peek; Daniel Peek and spouse Kaelyn; Jordan Riggs; Landon Riggs; Jacob Burton; and Tanner Burton; three great-grandchildren, Tristan Steward; Aiden Steward; and Kallie Peek; along with many nieces, nephews, and loved ones.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lillis Castle and spouse Frank Castle; and Henry Davis Riggs; and one sister, Shirley Hensz. 

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Lewis Funeral Chapel, located at 4817 Kelley Hwy in Fort Smith, AR 72904.
