Lady Di: A Life of Grace, Strength, and Love
Diane Brock-Hudson, lovingly known as “Lady Di,” entered eternal rest on October 21, 2025, at the age of 67 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. A lifelong resident of Roland, Oklahoma, she embodied grace, strength, and selflessness throughout her life’s journey.
Born on July 24, 1958, to the late Thomas Brock Sr. and Jewell Shade Brock, Diane was raised in a close-knit family rooted in love, faith, and service. She was a graduate of Roland High School, where she played basketball and played softball with the Lincoln Recreation Center, beginning to build the foundation for the discipline and work ethic that would guide her life.
On June 26, 1989, she united in marriage with James Hudson, and together they shared a beautiful life built on love, faith, and family. Diane dedicated 36 years of faithful service to Whirlpool Corporation, where she was also an active union member and respected colleague.
Though she jokingly claimed she didn’t enjoy cooking, few could match the delight of her famous peach cobblers or the comfort her dishes brought to those she loved. Diane found joy in shopping, watching her Arkansas Razorbacks, sharing laughter and stories with family, and soaking up every precious moment with her grandchildren. While she cherished a good laugh and occasional special refreshment, her life was guided by gratitude, grace, and generosity.
Diane’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. A devoted member of her church’s Mission Department, she served faithfully in numerous roles including deaconess, treasurer, chairman of the usher board, and member of the kitchen, benevolence, and cleaning committees, as well as communion set-up. “Sis. Diane” gave of herself wherever she was needed, never waiting to be asked and always leading by quiet example, steadfast love, and a servant’s heart.
She will forever be remembered for her kind spirit, compassion, generosity, and unwavering devotion to others. She was a woman who truly lived her faith through action, humility, and heart.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband James Hudson; her daughters April Brock (Joey) of Fort Smith, AR; Danté Johnson (Jeremy) of Grand Prairie, TX; and Brittany L. Hudson (Casey) of Yukon, OK; along with her beloved grandchildren Jade “Jadie Baby” Brock, L.J. Williams, Devin Styles Jones, Jastyn “Bitty” Johnson, and “The Grubworms,” J.R. and Jru Johnson.
She is also lovingly survived by her bonus daughters Shundia Hudson of Little Rock, AR; Latricia Lewis (Charles) of Pine Bluff, AR; and Cindy Barfield (Tyrone) of Texarkana, TX; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her siblings Thomas “Sonny” Brock Jr. (Mary) of Fort Smith, AR; Kathy Brock-Davis (Greg) of Tulsa, OK; Allen Brock of Cedar Park, TX; and Randall Brock (Tarieta) of Roland, OK; and her uncle Joe Shade of Muldrow, OK.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Donald, Harold, Calvin and Baby Eric Brock; and her grandparents Willie and Alma Shade and Wyatt and Sally Brock.
