Dixie Elaine Geren, age 76, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away at Heart of Hospice. She was born on January 11, 1949, in Fort Smith to the late Richard and Elaine Geren.
Dixie was a proud graduate of the Northside High School class of 1967, where she was a member of the school band and was elected Band Queen. She went on to attend the University of Arkansas. Over the years, she became deeply involved in her community as a member of the Pilot Club, the Border Line Chili Heads, and the Fort Smith Ski Club. She also volunteered with many local charities.
Professionally, Dixie served as Vice President of Geren Cash Register, where she was known for her leadership and dedication. Outside of work, she was an avid Arkansas Razorbacks “HAWG” fan and cherished time spent with friends and loved ones. She will be remembered as a true and loyal friend, always willing to help anyone in need.
Dixie is survived by her sister, Vicki Oswald and husband Fred; two nieces, Angie Wooten and Terri Settle; and many cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Elaine Geren.
There will be no services per Dixie's wishes.
