Donald Ray Hall got up last Sunday morning, September 8, 2024, and got ready for church. He sat down for a few minutes to rest. But instead of preaching his prepared message on love that morning, Don attended “big church” in heaven with Jesus.
Don was born to Harry and Betty Hall on December 27, 1950, in Van Buren, Arkansas. Don’s parents are both deceased. Don has one brother, Danny Hall and wife Mary who live here in Fort Smith.
Don is survived by his wife, Kay Hall, of the home in Arkoma, Oklahoma; one daughter, Angela Williams (husband Taylor) from Macomb, Oklahoma; one step-son, Rudy Lambert (wife Sandy) from Laquey, Missouri, and one step-daughter, Julie Lambert from Fort Smith, Arkansas; one nephew, Joseph Hall, and niece Rachael Rusinowski and numerous cousins, extended family, and a whole lot of friends.
Grandchildren include Garrett Fergason from Muldrow, Oklahoma; Kaylyn Fergason of Van Buren, Arkansas; and Avry Fergason of Macomb, Oklahoma; and one great-granddaughter, Aryana Fergason of Muldrow, Oklahoma. Step grandchildren include Chase Williams, Chloe Williams, and Kali Lambert.
With a ministry of over 56 years, Don attended Oklahoma Missionary Baptist Institute and Seminary in Marlow, Oklahoma and pastored numerous churches in Oklahoma. He has been pastor at Homestead Heights Community Church in Fort Smith for 37 years. Other ministry involvements were with community chaplain services, Billy Graham School of Evangelism, National Day of Prayer, and Friends of the Gideons International. Don had published a personalized proverbs book and was in the process of having published a Praying Effectively workbook. Don’s true calling was working with unchurched background people.
