Doris Jean Poole

Doris Jean Poole, 92, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Methodist Village Nursing Home. Born on March 27, 1932, in Fort Smith, Doris was the cherished daughter of Clarence and Lorene (Fant) Underwood. Throughout her life, she held various jobs, but her most meaningful work was as a Christian Therapist. With a compassionate heart and a deep dedication to helping others, she made a lasting impact on the lives of her clients.
A devoted member of Central Christian Church in Fort Smith, Doris actively participated in church events and found great joy in her faith and community. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and friend, whose kindness and devotion touched many.

Doris is survived by her son, Walter Poole, and his spouse, Regina Poole. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Lorene Underwood; her beloved daughter; and her husband, Jimmie Mike Poole.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Central Christian Church, 400 N Waldron Road, Fort Smith, AR 72903. Following the service, burial will take place at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Smith National Cemetery, 522 Garland Ave, Fort Smith, AR 72901. Pastor Tim Beasley will officiate.
Arrangements are entrusted to Lewis Funeral Chapel. Doris’s legacy of faith, love, and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
