Elaine (Crooks) Work

Elaine (Crooks) Work, 81 of Barling, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on 2/22/2025.  Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Marlin Guy Work, her mother Doris Crooks and father Calvin Crooks.

Elaine is survived by her brothers Kelly Crooks (wife Glenda) and Tim Crooks (wife Kelly), sisters Vi Olson and Caroline Huckins.  Elaine is also survived by her daughters Robin Jayjohn-Gosnell, (husband Tim) and Melody Smith (husband Paul) , and her sons Joseph Work and Aaron Work. Elaine had eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. 

Elaine was a wonderful homemaker and co-owner with Marlin for 42 years at Work's Band Instrument Repair.  Elaine loved seeing all the customers, students and friends that came for free or low cost repairs. Elaine’s pride and joy was her family and grandkids and great grandkids.

Elaine was faithful to her Lord and her church family, First Church of the Nazarene. 

The family invites all her friends, band parents/students/friends, and those that shared a conversation with her are welcome to fellowship with the family on Saturday March 1st at 10am at First Church of the Nazarene, located at 4813 North O Street in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to Shriners Hospital.
