Elva “Louise” Peters, 63, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born on August 22, 1962, in Fort Smith to the late Shirley Burt Shelton and Johnnie M Jones.
Louise dedicated her life to caring for others through her work as a Certified Nursing Assistant, a role she took great pride in. In her free time, she enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with those she loved.
She is survived by her husband, Millard Lee Peters; her four children, Samantha, Johnnie, Sumer, and Christopher; seven grandchildren, Joseph, Justin, Josiah, Aaliyah, Curley, CaMiya, and Analie; four great-grandchildren, KaNiyah, Jhustyce, Haven, Kyngsleigh, Hero, Auroroa, and Athena; and her siblings, Orville and Shirley Ann.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Shirley Burt Shelton and Johnnie M. Jones; her granddaughter, Elizabeth Evans; and her brothers, Johnny Lee and Charles Jones.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith, with Brother Ron Patrick officiating. Services are entrusted to Lewis Funeral Chapel.
