George A. Treadaway Jr., age 81, passed away on April 11, 2025. He was born on October 23, 1943, in Glendale, California, to George Treadaway Sr. and Edith (Hohmann) Treadaway.
George spent his childhood on a family farm, where he developed a love for horses and a strong appreciation for the outdoors. He went on to dedicate 60 years of his life to a career in truck driving, a profession he approached with commitment and resilience.
On July 13, 2017, George married the love of his life, Donna Sue (McAfee) Treadaway. Together, they shared seven cherished years of love, laughter, and companionship.
Later in life, George embraced his faith and was baptized on March 12, 2025. Known for his dry wit and sense of humor, George never missed a chance to make his family and friends laugh. While he may have been outspoken and sometimes gruff, those who knew him best recognized the deep love, loyalty, and warmth he held for those closest to him. He had a soft spot for animals and enjoyed bowling in his leisure time.
George was preceded in death by his parents, George and Edith Treadaway, as well as his brothers, Donald Treadaway and Billy Treadaway.
He is lovingly remembered by his children, Randy Treadaway and Ronetta Kelley; his grandchildren, Zack Treadaway and Shelbi Higgins; and his great-grandchildren, Joanna Treadaway and Jaxon. He is also survived by his brothers, Jerry Treadaway, and Kenneth Treadaway and wife Lorri; his sister, Dorothy Miller and husband Carl; Delanna Jones and husband Bryan; Bailey Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Lewis Funeral Chapel, with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Carl Miller. Arrangements are entrusted to Lewis Funeral Chapel.
