Glena Mackey Obituary

Glena Kay Mackey, age 66, of Alma, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025. Born on March 28, 1959, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, she was the cherished daughter of Glen and Charlene (Harris) Hutchens.

Glena was a proud graduate of the University of Oklahoma and dedicated 35 years to improving the lives of others as an occupational therapist. Her life's work was a reflection of her generous heart and deep compassion for helping people.  Beyond her career, Glena found her greatest joy in the love she held for her family.  She was a devoted Mother and adoring Meme whose strength, wisdom, and generosity were constant sources of love and support.  Her passions included a lifelong love of reading, caring for animals and rescuing kittens, but nothing brought her more happiness and endless pride than the cherished time spent with her grandchildren. Glena carried a spirit of adventure, and took great pleasure in traveling. The beach, in particular, held a special place in her heart- she always felt a profound sense of peace, joy, and renewal at the beach.

She will be remembered as a strong, accomplished, and professional woman; a dependable and loving Mother and MeMe whose legacy is one of kindness, unwavering love, resilience, and dedication.  Glena's legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Glena was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Charlene Hutchens; her son, Ryan Glen Mize; and her granddaughter, Haley Waddell.

She is survived by her four children: Rachel Waddell and her husband Kenneth, Kalen Mize-Ward, Emilie Hosler and her husband Dylan, and Austin Mackey and his wife Carly. She leaves behind 17 beloved grandchildren: Kenzie, Jewelyn, Tristan, Wyatt, Troy Glen, Walyn, Rylan, Ryan, Ryder, Emma, Blakely, Reid, Miller, Ally Jo, GraceAnne, Catherine, Baker; as well as two great-grandchildren, Leighton and Ledger and expecting a third great-grandchild, Lautner,  All of whom were her greatest joy.
