Glennis Looper Obituary

Glennis Dean Looper, 66, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 4, 2025. Born on December 28, 1958, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, he was the cherished son of Vernon Clifford Looper and Mary Marie (Roberts) Looper.

Glennis spent many dedicated years working as a mechanic at Whitt Truck Repair. Outside of his profession, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life—camping, fishing, and his passion for muscle cars. He was a strong and loving presence in the lives of those around him—a true family leader known for guiding and protecting his loved ones with unwavering love and strength.

He is survived by his significant other, Debra Glenn; six children: Maria Crossno of Fort Smith, AR; Randy Looper of Gulfport, MS; Amanda Parks of Poteau, OK; Josh Burnett of Fort Smith, AR; Rebecca Orellana of Van Buren, AR; and Jacob Burnett of Fort Smith, AR. He was a proud grandfather to fourteen grandchildren: Micheal, Latesha, Glen, Dylan, Aerial, Donovan, Hunter, Chris, Andrew, Katelyn, Seth, Mia, Kristina, and Destiny; and a loving great-grandfather to Dawson and Nolan. Glennis is also survived by his sisters, Kathy Freeman, Rosa Scott Looper, and Kim Cummings, along with many extended family members and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Mary Looper; his wife, Tina McGinnis; and siblings, Pete Looper, Melvin Looper, and Joyce Colon.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 10, at Lewis Funeral Chapel, 4817 Kelley Hwy, Fort Smith.
