Gumaro Serafin Gonzalez

Gumaro Serafin Gonzalez, 79, peacefully entered his heavenly home on December 7, 2024. Born on October 11, 1945, in Penjamo, Mexico, he was the cherished son of Juvenal Gonzalez and Maria Meza.

Gumaro was a hardworking and devoted man who dedicated his life to supporting his family. He worked tirelessly as a landscaper in Oregon and later in factory positions in Arkansas. His love for nature was evident in his flourishing gardens, where he grew vibrant tomatoes and peppers for family and friends to enjoy. He took pride in yard work and found joy in sharing these simple pleasures with others.

A devoted family man, Gumaro cherished his children and grandchildren, often joining them for games of soccer and creating lasting memories. Known for his kind heart and sociable spirit, he was a true companion to those around him, always eager to connect and offer his unwavering support. His deep faith and love for his family were at the center of his life and will forever be remembered.

Gumaro was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maria Elena Ceja, and his parents, Juvenal Gonzalez and Maria Meza.
He is survived by his five children: Refugio, Juvenal, Serafin, Maria, and Guadalupe Gonzalez; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and seven siblings: Pepe, Chava, Benjamin, Gil, Berta, Elena, and Ofelia Gonzalez.

A rosary will be held in his honor at Lewis Funeral Chapel on Friday, December 13, at 6:00 P.M. A funeral mass will follow on Saturday, December 14, at 1:30 P.M. at Saint Boniface Church, officiated by Father Mario. Pallbearers will include Juan, Carlos, Gerardo, and Victor.
Arrangements are under the care of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Gumaro Serafín González, de 79 años, entró pacíficamente en su hogar celestial el 7 de diciembre de 2024. Nacido el 11 de octubre de 1945 en Pénjamo, México, fue el amado hijo de Juvenal González y María Meza.

Gumaro fue un hombre trabajador y dedicado que entregó su vida al apoyo de su familia. Trabajó incansablemente como jardinero en Oregón y, posteriormente, en fábricas en Arkansas. Su amor por la naturaleza se reflejaba en sus florecientes jardines, donde cultivaba vibrantes tomates y chiles para que familiares y amigos los disfrutaran. Se sentía orgulloso del trabajo en el jardín y encontraba alegría al compartir estos sencillos placeres con los demás.

Gumaro fue precedido en la muerte por su amada esposa, María Elena Ceja, y sus padres, Juvenal González y María Meza.
Le sobreviven sus cinco hijos: Refugio, Juvenal, Serafín, María y Guadalupe González; 14 nietos; 13 bisnietos; y siete hermanos: Pepe, Chava, Benjamín, Gil, Berta, Elena y Ofelia González.

El rosario en su honor se llevará a cabo en Lewis Funeral Chapel el viernes 13 de diciembre a las 6:00 P.M. La misa fúnebre será el sábado 14 de diciembre a la 1:30 P.M. en la Iglesia de San Bonifacio, oficiada por el Padre Mario. Los portadores del féretro incluirán a Juan, Carlos, Gerardo y Víctor.
