Helen Marie (Knox) Johnson

Helen Marie Johnson, 96, entered her heavenly home on December 5, 2024. Born in Franklin Parish, Louisiana, Helen was one of several cherished children of Eulys Grant Knox and Virgie Bell Knox Nee Calhoun. She graduated from Crowville High School and pursued a college education. On August 11, 1951, Helen married her beloved husband, Lynwood W. Johnson, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Helen was a dedicated member of the Palm Springs, California, community, where she devoted many years to serving and improving the city before her well-earned retirement.
A woman of deep faith and compassion, Helen was known for her charitable spirit. She was a devoted Christian who supported mission work, taught Bible classes, and led Girl Scout troops, shaping the lives of many with her kindness and guidance. She had a passion for travel, embarked on numerous road trips and cruises, and found joy in exploring the beauty of the world. Helen will be remembered as a loving wife, a devoted mother, and a steadfast example of Christian values.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Valerie Johnson of Fort Smith, Arkansas; her brother, James Knox of Monroe, Louisiana; and her sisters, Doris Pressley Nee Knox of Fort Smith and Frances Jones Nee Knox of Jonesboro, Arkansas. She also leaves a cherished legacy of loving family members and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgie and Eulys Knox; her beloved husband, Lynwood Johnson; her two sisters: Virginia Slade Nee Knox and Monte Sue Lambert Nee Knox; and two brothers, William Knox and Robert Knox.

A memorial service will be held in her honor at West Ark Church of Christ on January 18, 2024 at 2:00p.m. officiated by Chris Benjamin.
