Jack Edward Leete, 90, of Lavaca died Friday, Jan. 23, 2026 at Greenhurst Nursing Center in Charleston. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy for eight years, including service during the Korean War. Following his military service, he remained deeply involved with the veteran community, serving as Commander of the VFW Greenwood Post No. 6527. He also dedicated many years to his career at Fort Chaffee, overseeing Facilities and Engineering until his retirement in 2006. In his free time, he enjoyed cheering on the Razorbacks and attending car shows, where he found great pleasure in classic cars
There will be a funeral service held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Lewis Funeral Chapel Lavaca. A committal will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026 at the Fort Smith National Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers, will be Klint Leete, Titus Leete, Jared Walker, Lee Ballance, Dustin Ballance, and David Crabtree.
He is survived by wife, Ann and daughters: Deborah Leete (deceased) of San Mateo, Calif., Margo Bolander of Loomis, Calif., Jennifer Chick of Greenwood, and Debbie Ballance of Lavaca; and sons: Gus Leete of San Mateo, Calif., Fred Barnum of Auburn, Calif., Mitchell Barnum of Loomis, Calif., Klint Leete of Fort Smith, and Danny Crabtree of Lavaca; He leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Union Baptist Church in Lavaca, Arkansas.
