Jimmie Don Six, age 65, passed away on November 9, 2024, at Mansfield Methodist Hospital in Mansfield, Texas. Born on September 29, 1959, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Jimmie was one of ten beloved children of Billy Raymond Six and Virginia (Easter) Six.
On June 10, 1989, Jimmie married the love of his life, Sandra, and together they built 35 years filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. A man of many talents, Jimmie had a gift for nurturing life, especially evident in his passion for tending his rose bushes. Known for his "fix-it" attitude, he was a dedicated handyman who lent his skills to help friends and family. Jimmie's quick wit and mischievous humor brought joy to all who knew him. His honesty was a hallmark of his character, and his steadfast love for his family shone through in all he did. As a devoted father with a tough-love approach, he protected and deeply cherished his children, leaving them with fond memories and life lessons. Jimmie's legacy of love, humor, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all blessed to know him.
Jimmie is survived by his loving wife, Sandra; his two children, Derick (and his wife Kristy Spence) and Matthew Six; his honorary son, Chris Steward; and his two treasured grandchildren, Dayton Mitchell and Kynzie Mitchell. He is also survived by his mother, Virginia Six; his brothers, Billy Ray Six, and John Six; his sisters, Donna Cook, Wanda Moses, Rothie Britt, Lois Wherry, Bonnie Jones, Norma Scouden, and LaDonna Cox; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who adored him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Billy Raymond Six.
A Graveside Service to honor Jimmie's life will be held on Tuesday, November 19, at 12:00 p.m. at Shamrock Cemetery in Cedarville, Arkansas: 15606 State Hwy 220, Chester, AR 72934. There will be a meal for the family at Shamrock Church following the service. Brother C.A. Eversole is to officiate. Pallbearers will be Matthew Six, Derick Spence, Christopher Steward, D.J. Scouden, Michael Scouden, and Bobby Dean. Services are entrusted to Lewis Funeral Chapel.
