John Richard Spencer, age 67, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 6, 2026, at The Blossoms in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born on May 13, 1958, in McComb, Mississippi, to the late William Frank Spencer and Hilda (Piggot) Spencer.
Throughout his life, John dedicated many years to working in transportation, including long-haul trucking and serving as a gas well transporter with Quick Transport in Fort Smith and Van Buren. He took pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic.
John shared 26 loving years of marriage with his beloved wife, Debbie (Lane) Spencer. The two were united in marriage in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, and built a life filled with love and cherished memories.
In his spare time, John found joy in camping across the beautiful landscapes of Arkansas, embracing the peace of the outdoors. He also enjoyed woodworking, often creating thoughtful handmade gifts for family and friends, such as birdhouses and plaques. A true jack of all trades, John was always ready to lend a helping hand.
John will be fondly remembered as a kind and loving man with a special place in his heart for children and the elderly. His outgoing spirit brought smiles wherever he went, and children especially were drawn to his warmth and friendliness.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Debbie Spencer; his three sons, Randy, Robert, and James Spencer; his stepson, Chris Golden; his stepdaughter, Sara Snead; many treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister, Maggie Bowman; his brother, Loyd Spencer; his nephews, Tommy and Jim; his nieces, Wanda, Sandra, and Rose; and his dear friends, Melo and Farrah.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Wilene; and his brother, James Edward Spencer.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith.
