Kathern "Kathy" Ann Sherrill

Kathern "Kathy" Ann Sherrill, 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Pocola Nursing Home in Pocola, Oklahoma. Born on July 11, 1945, in Little Rock, Arkansas, she was a beloved daughter of John Chisum and Laveda Viola Valentine.

Kathy was a flower fanatic, and she found joy in nurturing her beautiful garden. A true homebody at heart, she spent her days reading, quilting, sewing, and indulging in a little shopping. She had a gift for conversation, never meeting a stranger, and her warm and welcoming nature touched everyone she encountered.

Her giving spirit was evident in her generosity, as she frequently donated to various charities. Above all, Kathy cherished her family, and holiday gatherings held a special place in her heart. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose love and kindness left a lasting impact on those who knew her.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, John Gilbert Sherrill I; two children, Teresa Brown and spouse Rodney; and John Gilbert Sherrill II; ten grandchildren, Arik Griffin; James Okonewski; Anthony Brown; Kristen Brown; Casey Allen; Emily Brown; Johnny Taylor; John G. Sherrill III; Edward Sherrill; and Brenna Cecil; and eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Laveda Chisum; and her daughter, Lavida Byrd. 

A Private Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Services are entrusted to Lewis Funeral Chapel.
