Kathryn Robinson Obituary

Kathryn J Robinson completed her earthly journey on March 21st. She had finished the tasks given to her and joined her Heavenly Father and Jesus her Savior in paradise.

She had many family members and friends waiting for her, but we imagine her Uncle Jack being there to give her a big hug. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Gary and Opal Robinson, siblings Gary Randall and Karen R Robinson, her grandparents, and her beloved Uncle Jack.

Kathryn taught 9th grade English for many years at Chaffin Junior High School. She taught an additional two years at Southside High School before retiring in 2024. Her love of teaching and her care for her students was reflected in her commitment to her profession.

The loves of her life were her two daughters Samantha Espinoza-Robinson and Sabrina Fowler, her husband Wes, and their family. She dearly loved her grandchildren, KayLynn, Stetson and Stoney and would attend their ball practices and games, gymnastics classes, and other school and church activities.

A world traveler, with family, student groups and a mission trip, Kathryn most loved to cruise.  She had two cruises planned for this year and was talking about a trip next summer in the British Isles.  She couldn’t wait to show us her favorite places.

She also leaves behind her favorite (only) sister Sherryl Faulkner-Robinson and her wife Marla.  The three made excellent traveling partners, going to the Smokies and the Rockies and a recent trip to the Badlands and Yellowstone.

Kathryn loved her cats and was always willing to help with cat advice or even rehoming a cat that needed her.  She has had a few dogs that will be greeting her at the rainbow bridge, as well as her walking and television watching companion Misu who is now living with her daughter.

She had numerous close friends who have been an important part of her life and will miss her.  There will be an empty place at the Friday coffee table at Phyllis’s house, a lunch date with Becky that is canceled and a spot at the Thursday senior luncheon at her church that will be vacant.

There is so much more that could be said, so please feel free to share stories for her family. They are uplifting and make us smile and laugh.  She was dearly loved and missing her is hard.

Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Baptist Association disaster relief fund who helped her during the flooding of her home. Or you may want to contribute to the Fort Smith Public Schools Foundation(not the school system) which supports the teachers and students with grants for additional education opportunities.

Kathryn would also love it if you wanted to give to your favorite cat rescue.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at First Baptist Church of Fort Smith on Grand Ave.
