Kimberlan Ann Brown, age 66, passed away on March 23, 2026, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born on April 6, 1959, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, to the late James Edward Barnes and Irene Martha Asbill. Kimberlan graduated from Roland High School. She married the love of her life, Terry Brown, and together they shared 40 devoted years of marriage.
Kimberlan and Terry often enjoyed small weekend trips, with Branson, Missouri being their favorite destination. Above all, she cherished spending quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as a hardworking woman with a joyful spirit and a love for laughter. Her family will deeply miss her caring nature and will always remember her as a loving grandmother.
Kimberlan is survived by her daughters, Ashley Brown and husband Luther of Fort Smith, and Heather Grubb and husband Doug of Hackett; six grandchildren, Briana, Alexis, Chyenne, Michaela, McKenzie, and Caitlyn; four great-grandchildren, Lanora, Roaplynn, Zy, and “Miss P”; her sister, Kay Davis and husband Butch; along with a host of extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Irene Asbill; her father, James Barnes; her beloved husband, Terry Brown; her sister, Bertha Farmer; her brother, Paul Edward Barnes; and her brother-in-law, Robert Farmer.
Kimberlan will be laid to rest with her husband, Terry, at the Fort Smith National Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Lewis Funeral Chapel.
