Laura Mae Beckham

Laura Mae Beckham, age 82, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025 at Methodist Village Nursing Home in Fort Smith. Laura was born on September 24, 1943, in Spiro, Oklahoma to Bunk Alexander and Willie (Shahan) Alexander. 

Laura was a longtime and devoted member of the West Ark Church of Christ until her health no longer allowed her to attend regularly. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she found great joy in worship and fellowship. She also had a servant’s heart and loved volunteering at the Hope Chest, where she was always eager to help others 

Laura is survived by one brother; Eugene Alexander and wife Coeweta; one sister, Doris Parker; as well as numerous nieces and nephew. She is preceded in passing by her beloved parents, Bunk Alexander and Willie (Shahan) Alexander; Her loving husband, Roy Gene Beckham; four sisters, Louise Parker, Marie Perdue, Lavern Walton, and Iva Jean Alexander;  as well as one brother, James Thomas Alexander.

There will be a viewing on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at Lewis Funeral Chapel, from 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. A graveside service will follow at 10:00a.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026 at the Fort Smith National Cemetery.
