Leroy Sutton, age 89, passed away peacefully at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born on December 19, 1935, in Reynolds County, Missouri to Raymond Marrell Sutton and Marie (Fillmore) Sutton. Leroy was a proud graduate of Chico High School in Chico, California. He honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953, and later in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1961.
Following his military service, Leroy spent more than 48 years working as a dedicated truck driver. Known for his strong work ethic and quiet determination, he took pride in every mile on the road.
On August 4, 1992, Leroy married the love of his life, Pamela (Cox) Sutton, at the Crawford County Courthouse. Together they shared 33 wonderful years of marriage.
In his free time, Leroy enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and spending time with his sons and grandchildren. He was also a faithful member of Revis Hill Assembly of God Church in Mountainburg, Arkansas. Leroy will be lovingly remembered as a hardworking, family-oriented man who lived his life with integrity and devotion.
He is survived by his five sons: Cliff, Chris and wife Steffanie, Jim, Lee, and Roy; four grandchildren: Dakota, Luke, Vivian, and Reesey; one sister, Rosemary; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, Cindy and Johnny.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Marie Sutton; his daughters, Dawn and Jennifer; his brother, Burrel; and his sister, Gladys.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 31, 2025, at Pope Cemetery in Mulberry, Arkansas. Family and friends are invited to visit prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., also at Pope Cemetery. Todd Taylor will officiate. Honorary pallbearers include Doug, Matthew, Harold, Johnny, and Dennis. Services are entrusted to Lewis Funeral Chapel.
