Lonnie Dwayne Burks, age 50, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Born November 17, 1974, in Newport News, Virginia, he was a beloved son of Rocky Humphries and Jeanette (Burks) Cotton. A talented and hardworking welder, Lonnie spent his career as a self-employed craftsman, creating with skill and precision. In his free time, he found joy in the great outdoors, especially shooting, fishing, and riding go-karts. Lonnie had an adventurous spirit and a "happy-go-lucky" personality that endeared him to all who knew him.
Known for his generosity, Lonnie would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. While he enjoyed his independence and often preferred solitude, his heart was always open to helping others. Lonnie also proudly held the self-proclaimed title of "biggest dart player in the world," a passion he inherited from his dart-throwing grandfather.
Lonnie is survived by his loving partner of eight years, Lisa Parker; two sons, Tristan Andreas and Clayton James, and one daughter, Alexandria Bunch. He also leaves behind three cherished grandchildren; his two sisters, Misty Roberts and Crystal Roberts; one beloved niece, Ireland Roberts; one cousin, Cory Lynn Perry; and his beloved pet, Mocha.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Tommy Allen Roberts.
The family will hold a Memorial Service at a later time. Cremation is under the thoughtful direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
