Lucy Villa Carr, age 81, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Born on January 4, 1944, in Fort Smith, she was the beloved daughter of William Louis Light and Frances (Coursey) Light.
In June of 1960, Lucy married the love of her life, Bobby Carr Sr., and together they shared 61 beautiful years of marriage until his passing in 2021. She devoted her life to caring for her family, spending her days as a dedicated homemaker, tending to her home, nurturing her children, and taking great pride in her flower garden. Family was at the heart of everything Lucy did, and she had the joy of providing loving childcare for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren over the years.
Lucy was known for her fiery spirit, unwavering love, and fierce devotion to those she held dear. She was a woman of deep faith who led her household in the ways of the Lord, constantly praying for those around her. As a devoted member of the Salvation Army Church and an active participant in the Home League, she lived a life of service, sacrifice, and complete surrender to God.
Her family described her best with three words: servant, sacrifice, and surrender. She will be remembered as a caring, loving, and devoted wife, mother, and the best "Nana" to her grandchildren, who adored her deeply.
Lucy is survived by her four children: Tania Rodebush and husband Keith; Cary Carr and wife Brenda; Bobby Carr Jr. and wife NaKisha; and Mandy Clock and husband Robert. She was blessed with nine grandchildren: Matthew Posey, Nicholas Posey, Michael Cash, Paige Wahlmeier, Sydney Cash, Hayley Carr, Payton Morris, BobiLyn Weldy, and Noah Carr; seven great-grandchildren: Seth Posey, Riley Posey, Parker Posey, Emmaline Wahlmeier, Cree Bell, Silas Bell, and Lincoln Cash; and one great-great-grandchild, Cameron Posey. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Carolyn Light; five nieces; and a host of extended family, loved ones, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Frances Light; her beloved husband, Bobby Carr Sr.; her brother, Charles Light; and her sister, Barbara Bolinger.
