Martha Elizabeth Sosa passed away surrounded by the love of her family on Sunday, April 19, 2026. She was born on November 25, 1949, to Chester and Mary Honea.
Martha had a strong faith and loved the Lord. She was part of the City of Refuge Church, where she found joy and a sense of community.
Martha was one of a kind. She loved to travel, loved a good game of bingo, and never missed a chance to cook up something delicious and feed the people she loved. She kept up with everyone the modern way too — faithfully checking Facebook, liking photos, commenting on posts, and making sure she always knew what was going on. She loved her family deeply, stayed connected to all of us in her own special way, and leaves behind so many memories that will make us smile for years to come.
She leaves behind her five children: Karen Brock of Vilonia, Arkansas; Peggy Bartley and Laura Sanchez of Fort Smith, Arkansas; Robert Wingfield of Stigler, Oklahoma; Kevin Wingfield of Fort Smith, Arkansas and a sister in law: Corrine Honea of Fort Smith, AR.
She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, along with many nieces and nephews who meant so much to her.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Mary Honea; her brothers, Garland, Jimmy, and Lonnie Honea; her sister, RuthAnn Lewis, granddaughter Whitney Waggoner, great granddaughter Brianna Shaddon, and great grandson Caleb Brock.
She will be deeply missed and always remembered by those who loved her.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026 at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Joseph Brock is to officiate. Services are entrusted to Lewis Funeral Chapel.
