Mary Lynelle Bitticks

Mary Lynelle Bitticks, age 91, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, September 9, 2024, in Lavaca, Arkansas. Born May 29, 1933, she was the beloved daughter of Mae Lenell Beanblossom-Benedict and Dennis Lee Benedict. She married the love of her life, Ed Bitticks, on August 10, 1956, in Alamogordo, New Mexico on August 10, 1956, and they spent many blissful years together in marriage. Mary received her education in Ola, Arkansas, and spent her working days as a telephone operator. Beyond her work, Mary was a proud homemaker, who loved her babies and greatly  cherished her family. In her free time, she enjoyed bird watching and gardening, often acting like Mother Nature herself, and attending church. Mary will be remembered as a Christian woman of faith, who put God and her family first. 

Mary is survived by her 4 grandchildren, Nick and Angie Buford; and Chris and Kendra Buford; six great-grandchildren, Maddi, Elizabeth, Christian, Abby, Kenzie, and Khloe; her siblings, David Benedict of Sapulpa, OK; Arlyss Benedict of Ola, AR; and Cherry Turner of Ola, AR; along with numerous nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her spouse, Ed Bitticks; her daughter, Darla Susan Clay; and her siblings, Doris McBride, Lonene Jones, Levaye Benedict, and Levon Benedict.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, September 16, 2024, at the Lavaca Lewis Funeral Chapel, located at 255 AR-96 in Lavaca, AR 72941. The Funeral Service will be held at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at First Assembly of God Church in Lavaca, AR, located at 804 E Main Street in Lavaca, AR 72941. Interment will follow the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the Fort Smith National Cemetery. Josh Tumbleson will officiate. Pallbearers will be Christian Mitchell, Aiden Armer, Richard Benedict,Corky McConnell, Norman Jones and Kayson Turley. Services are under the thoughtful direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
