Micheal Ray Ezell, age 73, passed away peacefully at his home on April 12, 2025. Born on September 25, 1951, he was the cherished son of Merle and Maxine Ezell.
Micheal pursued his education at Arkansas Tech University, where he also played football. He later earned his master’s degree in Library Services from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. In July 2005, he married the love of his life, Gray Langston, in a joyful ceremony in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
Throughout his career, Micheal was devoted to education and community service. He served as an educator, coach, and librarian at Paris Middle School, and went on to manage the Dallas Branch Library in Fort Smith for ten years. He also contributed to his community as a former president of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles organization in Fort Smith.
A passionate Razorback fan, Micheal enjoyed cheering on the football, basketball, and baseball teams. He was also an avid reader, always eager to share stories and knowledge with those around him. Micheal will be remembered for his warm heart, generous spirit, and the deep friendships he nurtured throughout his life. He was a friend to all, and his presence will be deeply missed by many.
Micheal is preceded in death by his father, Merle Ezell; his son, Brian Ezell; his sister, Sharon Todd; and his brother, Gary Ezell.
Micheal's legacy of love and learning lives in his surviving family, consisting of his wife, Gray Langston; his mother, Maxine Ezell; his daughter, Mica Ezell; his three grandchildren: Carly Caldwell, Kiley Ezell, and Brylyn Ezell. He also leaves behind his nieces, Kelly Todd and Kayla Todd.
A memorial service will be held in his honor at a later time. Cremation under the care of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
