Nancy Monroe Obituary

NANCY CLAIR MONROE passed into the arms of her loving Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 19, 2026.  She finally got to realize her deep desire to look into the eyes of Jesus.

Nancy was preceded in death by her father and mother, Arthur and Anna Fritz, her two brothers Fred and Harold (Pete) Fritz, and three sisters, Jane Carey, Shirley Conners, and Edith Kraynak, her nephew Jerry Conners, her niece Karen Kraynak McNichols, and her Husband of thirty-nine years, Bob Monroe.

She is survived by her sister Carol (Richard) Miller, daughter Diane (Bob) Fowler, her son Edward (Peggy) Hearn Jr., her step-daughter Brandy Monroe-Hicks.  Grandchildren include Justin (Davena) Thurmond, Elizabeth Fowler, Charles (Mally) Fowler III, Maureen (Christopher) Dugger, Matthew (Sheela) Hearn, Amber Hicks, Caroline Owen, Richard T. Hicks, and Steven M. Hicks.  Great Grandchildren are Caleb Fowler, Joseph Fowler, Brianna Martin, Kenneth Martin, Raylie Morgan, Nicholaus Augustine, Tristen Dugger, Wyatt Dugger, and Pete Dugger.  Her Great Great Grandson, and the apple of her eye, is Jonathan Fowler.  Nieces Ann (Gene) Rodriguez, Lori Kraynak-Rice, and Beth Miller.  Nephews Richard Connors, Bobby Connors, and Mark Kraynak.

Nancy was born in the house she was raised in, in Wyoming, PA, on March 24, 1936.  She was one of seven siblings.  She worked most of her career in Banking, before she and her husband, Bob Monroe, purchased Sundance Service Company in Reno, NV.  After retiring, they moved to Fort Smith, AR to be close to family.  Bob and Nancy were long-time members of East Side Baptist Church, where Nancy was a prominent member of the “Young at Heart” senior adult ministry, leading a weekly prayer group for many years.  During Nancy’s final days at Ashton Place Senior Care Rehab Facility she formed a wonderful relationship with her new-found “sister”, Shirley Jerrell.  She and Shirley claimed all the nurses and aids as there children.

Our family wishes to thank all the people at Ashton Place for their love and care for Nancy.  They truly made a difficult situation a blessing.
