Norris "Wayne" Means, 85, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, November 21, 2024. Born on September 24, 1939, to Valley and Enid (Barrington) Means, Wayne was a proud graduate of Northside High School. He went on to have a successful career in transportation and remained dedicated to his work throughout his life.
An avid sports fan, Wayne enjoyed watching games, especially cheering on his favorite team, the Razorbacks. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Wayne is survived by his three children: Bryan Means, Kent Means, and Marty Means; seven grandchildren: Brandy Wilson, Kandis Wilson, Cody Means, Breanna Means, Hope Davis, Macey Means, and Max Means; and eleven great-grandchildren: McKenzie Wilson, Saylor Canoy, Spencer Wilson, Callie Davis, Ridge Means, Rowan Means, Renly Means, Grace Collett, Faith Collett, Abigail Collett, and Drew Collett.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Valley and Enid Means; his beloved wife, Faye Means; and his daughter, Diana Barnes.
Wayne’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and his absence will be deeply felt. Cremation is under the thoughtful direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
