Pat Rogers

Patricia "Pat" Rogers, age 80, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2024. Pat was born September 19, 1944, in Garden City, Michigan, to the late Donald and Alice (Moore) Paxton. She was an avid Genealogist and even worked at the Fort Smith Library helping many of the patrons find out their family history. She was a member of the Daughters of American Revolution, and helped others join the group by researching their heritage. She loved being secretive; by giving to others without their knowledge, she would buy groceries and have the recipient think that they had won a shopping spree. Pat would pay for her grandchildren's sports equipment and things they needed to compete. Pat also was a member of the historical society and in her later days loved watching Murder Mysteries on the ID channel. Her greatest achievement was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Pat was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. Pat is survived by her husband, Robert Dean Rogers, who she married on April 24, 1962, in Nankin Township, Wayne County, Michigan. She also leaves behind three daughters Saundra Williams and husband Dan of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Sheila Lively and husband Jerry of Perryville, Arkansas, Bobbi Rogers of Fort Smith, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Aliscia Klein and husband Isaiah of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Daniel Williams and wife Gretchen of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Austen Upton and husband Joe Smith of Alma, Arkansas, Ethan Upton of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Haleigh Upton-Davenport and husband John of Hewitt, Texas, Alivia Rogers of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Travis Lively and Jared Lively; four great grandchildren, Isabella Klein, Samuel Klein, Evelyn Klein and Callysta Davenport; one brother, Donald Paxton of Wayne, Michigan; and a sister in law, Ann Rogers. She is preceded in death by one grandson Kiley Dean Rogers, a sister, Leila Enzenauer, and her beloved dog, Senorita Cinnamon "Rita". The family would like to give a special thank you to the whole group of nurses and staff at Heart of Hospice for their care and kindness. A visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Lewis Funeral Chapel, 4817 Kelley Highway, Fort Smith, Arkansas. The Funeral for Pat will be 11:30 AM, Monday, November 4, 2024, at Lewis Funeral Chapel, 4817 Kelley Highway, Fort Smith, Arkansas, with the interment to follow at the Fort Smith US National Cemetery.
