Pearl Ola Ross, 83, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025. She was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to Dewitt and Florence (Robison) Burns.
In her early years, Pearl met and fell in love with Claude Carpenter, with whom she shared many cherished years until his passing. Known affectionately as the “Karaoke Queen,” Pearl had a deep passion for music and was a talented singer. She also enjoyed crocheting, spending time with family and friends, and hosting lively cookouts filled with laughter and warmth. Her generous spirit and kind heart touched everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who loved her.
Pearl was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Smith and Douglas Ross; her daughter, Cindy Ross; and her beloved grandsons, Richard “Ricky” Smith and Oliver Mills.
Pearl is survived by her beloved family, consisting of her three children, Florence Skinner and partner Ronnie McGowan, Joelena Schmidt and Wayne Everly, and Rick Smith; 8 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Chapel. A family potluck will be held following the visitation at Florence Skinner's home. In lieu of donations, family and friends are welcome to send flowers to the funeral home. Services are entrusted to Lewis Funeral Chapel.
