Rachael Christina (Uhl) Waggoner

Rachael Christina Uhl Waggoner, age 42, of Van Buren, Arkansas, passed away on September 15, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born on November 17, 1982, at a U.S. Air Force Base near Lincoln, Nebraska, to Kimberlee Vowell. She was later blessed with the love and guidance of her adoptive parents, John Uhl and Patricia Jones.

Rachael married the love of her life, Everett Dale Waggoner, and together they built a family filled with laughter, kindness, and joy. She was a proud and devoted mother to Chase and James Waggoner, and her love for children extended to “adopting” the many friends her boys brought home over the years. Rachael’s life was also shaped by the love of her Uncle Harvey and Aunt Patty, with whom she spent much of her childhood. Their bond remained unbreakable throughout her life.

Rachael dedicated her life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Known for her compassion and skill, she touched countless lives and earned the undying admiration of her patients, colleagues, and all who knew her. Outside of her work, Rachael found joy in quilting, cross-stitching, and crocheting. She was famous for her epic practical jokes, which left smiles and laughter in their wake, and for her boundless love for animals, never turning away one in need. Her striped sausage dog, Pippin, held a particularly special place in her heart. Rachael will be remembered for her endless kindness, her mischievous sense of humor, and her fierce love for family, friends, and all living creatures. Her legacy of compassion and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Everett; her sons, Chase and James; her mother, Patricia Jones, and stepfather, Dave Jones; her siblings, Robert and Lisa Uhl, Risa Uhl, Lisa and Matthew Jones, Melissa and Ron Kozarits, Kristie and Chuck Salvo, and Jeremy and Melissa Holland; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Uhl and Kimberlee Vowell; her uncles Timmy, Matthew “Bug,” and Rich; and her Aunt Joann.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Lewis Funeral Home. Burial will follow at a later date. Pallbearers will be Chase Waggoner, Robby Uhl, Matthew Jones, Jeremy Holland, Marlin Main, and Rahmlee Reynolds. Reception details will be announced.
