Raymond Edward Boyster Sr., age 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 9, 2025, in Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Born July 5, 1938, Raymond was a beloved son of Taylor Lewis Boyster and Emmer Jean (Mead) Boyster. On May 20, he married his beloved wife, Mattie "Pearl" (Williamson) Boyster, in their home in Bonanza, Arkansas, and together they enjoyed 62 wonderful years of marriage. In his early years, Raymond worked as a self-employed man, excelling in construction, carpentry, and automotive work. He had a passion for racing, often watching the races, building race cars, and even towing them. Raymond was a traditional man when it came to his family, but he was a jokester at heart. He cherished Sunday drives with his wife and children, whom he loved very much.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife, Pearl; six children, Debbie; Edward; Carla; Cheryl; Scott; and Amanda; eleven grandchildren, Nicole; Phillip; Stephanie; James; Travis; Tori; Joseph; Anthony; Brody; Jeremy; and Abrielle; numerous great-grandchildren, along with a host of extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Taylor and Emmer Jean Boyster; nine brothers; and one sister.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Lewis Funeral Chapel, located at 4817 Kelley Hwy in Fort Smith, Arkansas, 72904. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at White Bluff Cemetery in Bonanza, Arkansas. Pastor Adam Spain is to officiate. Services are entrusted to Lewis Funeral Chapel.
