Regina Lynn (Patterson) Flesher 62 of Hackett, more lovingly known as "mom, nanny or Gigi" passed away at home on Thursday, April 24, 2025.
Born to Patricia and the late Glenn Patterson in Los Angeles, CA, Regina was the 3rd of their 4 children.
As a young girl, Regina was a junior girl scout in her mothers girl scout troop where she made many friends that she kept in contact with throughout adulthood. Regina attended Sunnymede, Kimmons and Northside High School and got her GED in 1979. After successfully gaining her GED she felt led to help others do the same and became an instructor. She was fond of those she helped and the nickname she acquired, "Teach." She never forgot those that she helped nor those that helped her.
After working a few places for some experience, Regina decided that she wanted to pursue a career and enrolled in Arkansas Valley VoTech's Cosmetology Program. In 1985 she graduated with her Cosmetology license and began her career. She worked in some well loved beauty shops including Tiffany's, May Branch, and Hair Masters. She co-owned 37-37 Grand. After marrying her best friend in 1990 they would build a beauty shop in their home so that she could continue making people feel beautiful and be "mom" full time. Regina’s shop was a place for conversation, friendship and sometimes included hair, makeup and impromptu photoshoots.
Regina spent many years being a Little League and PTO Mom and even served as PTO President. She enjoyed organizing festivals and fundraisers for the teams her children joined. In 2001, Regina accepted the position of Commander for the Sebastian County Sheriff's Department's Junior Deputy Program, an outreach program for at risk youth.
She continued to support the teams well after her children were grown. When her oldest grandson played Junior High Football at Hackett, it was "Nanny & Pop" who provided game day dinner for the players on Thursday nights.
All that fundraising would come in handy when Regina went to work for the Fort Smith Board of Realtors around 2007. She began her career there as a part time assistant to the Executive Officer, but later would become the Executive Officer. She would learn the laws and practices of Real Estate and do everything she could to keep all of the local realtors safe and compliant. Her favorite part of her job was coordinating and planning events. From the Annual Inaugural Gala for the incoming President of the Board to the monthly meetings but her favorite was the Annual FSBOR Trivia Night campaign hosted to raise money for Special Olympics. Whether it was the grueling prep work and board meetings, playing trivia or bidding on auction items, you could always count on her to jump in and help with whatever needed done and recruit friends and family to do the same.
She loved any type of benefit and was always willing to help a group or even an individual in need. She was the true definition of Hebrews 13:2; Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing so some have unknowingly entertained angels. Regina was a member of River of Life Fellowship Church.
Regina is preceded in death by an infant sister, Patricia Renee Patterson, infant grandson Andrew Logan Nichols, Father Glenn Patterson and most importantly her late husband, best friend and the love of her life, Alfred "PeeWee" Flesher.
With all of Regina's accomplishments, there is no doubt that the one she is most proud of are the children and grandchildren that she leaves behind.
