Rena Lucille Chapin, age 83, passed away on February 28, 2026 at Methodist Senior Living in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born on November 9, 1942 in Charleston, Arkansas to Frank and Evelyn (Trotter) Jetton.
Rena was of the Baptist faith and a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Lavaca. On February 15, in Lavaca, Arkansas, she married the love of her life, and together they shared many wonderful and devoted years. Rena will be remembered as a loving and faithful wife, a devoted mother, and a proud and caring grandmother whose presence brought comfort and joy to her family.
Rena is survived by her two loving children, Marvin Chapin and wife Barbara, Brenda Taylor and husband Gary; her three beloved grandchildren, Brad Taylor and wife Maria, Megan Chapin and husband Matthew, Alexa Jones and Husband Simon; a great granddaughter, Kassy Taylor; one brother, Frankie Jetton; as well as one sister, Gail Harrower.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Evelyn (Trotter) Jetton; he beloved husband Marvin Mason Chapin; as well as one sister, Jack Graham.
There will be agraveside service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Oak Valley Cemetery in Lavaca, Arkansas, with Pastor Russ Tyler to Officiate. Services are intrusted to Lewis Funeral Chapel.
