Robert John Claybaugh

Robert John (B.J.) Claybaugh Jr., age 69, Passed away on June 24, 2025 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Robert was born on October 20, 1955 in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Robert John Sr. and Hazel (McGarity) Claybaugh.

Robert was a skilled auto mechanic by trade, known for his dedication and hands-on expertise in working with all types of vehicles. His passion for automobiles extended beyond the garage—his biggest passion being the thrill of racing. Outside of his love for cars, Robert found great joy in the outdoors. He was an enthusiastic hunter who cherished the quiet moments in nature, finding peace and reflection in the solitude of the woods. His appreciation for both the roar of engines and the stillness of the wilderness was a defining part of who he was. He lived a full life marked by handwork, firm beliefs, and a unapologetic approach to life. He had a sharp mind and a deep loyalty to those he loved.

Robert is survived by his 5 children, Robert Claybaugh III, Brandon Claybaugh, Angela Grandon, Adrianne Jenkins, Jaimie Beth Holmes; his three siblings Diane Carmen, Francis Metcalf, Dixie Johnson; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in passing by his parents, Robert John Sr. and Hazel (McGarity) Claybaugh; as well as a brother, John Orville Claybaugh.

Cremation is under the care of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
