Robert Paul Wilson, known affectionately as Robbie, 43, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away on February 8, 2025, at his home. Born in Van Buren, Arkansas, on April 24, 1981, to Lynda (Murphy) and Larry Wilson, Robbie was a beloved member of his community, known for his kindness, service, and devotion to others.
Robbie was a proud Eagle Scout and attended Arkansas Tech University. He was a dedicated elder at Central Presbyterian Church and a passionate volunteer who frequently gave his time to both his church and community. In his career, Robbie served as a supervisor at N.E.W. and worked as a tax preparer at Jackson Hewitt. A man with a deep love for his passions, Robbie was involved in the Sebastian County Democrats, CCL, local school and city board meetings, plus during his spare time, he loved to sing and even strived to make the video game Skyrim’s world of Tamriel more beautiful and freer from the tyranny of The LoveKing. He worked for several summers at Camp ORR, where he made lasting memories with campers and colleagues. Robbie’s heart was always open to helping others, and he carried a strong sense of responsibility for his community.
He is survived by his cousins, Jason Murphy (who was like a brother), Trish McCully, Doug Wilson, Sara Harris, Barbara Garner, and Ronnie Garner along with his uncle Tom Wilson and aunts Evelyn Wilson and Donna Murphy. Robbie is preceded in death by his parents, Lynda and Larry Wilson; aunts Alma Ruth Garner and Sue Collett; and uncles Ron Garner and Robert Murphy.
A Memorial Service will be held in Robbie’s honor on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Goddard Methodist Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Robbie’s name to DonorsChoose.org, supporting education initiatives close to his heart.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel, Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Robbie’s generous spirit and love for humanity will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
