Rocky Morehead Obituary

Rocky Joe Morehead, age 72, entered his heavenly home on Saturday, November 30th, 2024. He was born September 23, 1952 in Rockford, Illinois to the late Leslie William Morehead, and Beulah E. (Mills) Morehead. Rocky married the love of his life, Linda Morehead, and they enjoyed a beautiful marriage of 39 years together until her passing. After completing high school, Rocky pursued his calling at the Apostolic Bible Institute, which laid the foundation for a fulfilling ministry career. He served as the Pastor of Southside United Pentecostal Church from 1989 until his retirement in 2009, and most recently dedicated his efforts to the Pentecostals of Northwest Arkansas. In his free time, he worked as a master craftsman remodeling churches and homes. Rocky was a hard worker, and he knew how to roll up his sleeves and do whatever it took to provide for his family. As a craftsman, he loved spending time in the garage seeing what he could create, but his favorite thing to build was pulpits, which are still in use in churches across the US today. Rocky will be remembered as a loving father, devoted spouse, a loyal friend, and above all, a man that followed God’s will and plan for his life.

Rocky is survived by his beloved children, David and spouse Bobbi Morehead of Cincinnati, Ohio; Anthony and spouse Erin Morehead of Burleson, Texas; Sean and spouse Megan Morehead of Roland, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law, Sondra Benton of Greenwood, Arkansas; six grandchildren Taylor Morehead, Braxton Morehead, Rose Morehead, Xander Morehead, & Keegan Morehead, & Abigail Morehead; and his sibling, Betty and spouse Lloyd Dunaway of Oswego, Illinois.

He is preceded in death by his cherished wife,  Linda Morehead; his son, Justin Morehead; and his daughter, Misty Morehead.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 6th, 2024, at The Pentecostals of Northwest Arkansas, located at 2200 S 13th St, Rogers, AR 72758. The Funeral Service will follow the Visitation at 11:00 a.m., also at The Pentecostals of Northwest Arkansas. Burial will take place at 4:00 p.m., also on Friday, December 6th, 2024, at Oak Valley Cemetery, located at 10649 AR-96, Greenwood, AR 72936. Reverend David Morehead is to officiate. Pallbearers will be Anthony Morehead, David Morehead, Sean Morehead, Braxton Morehead, Taylor Morehead, Keegan Morehead, and Xander Morehead.
