Ronald Douglas Bartlett

Ronald Douglas Bartlett (Doug) of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024, at the age of 96. Doug was born in Coal Hill, Arkansas, on May 9, 1928, to Mary Elizabeth (Kelly) Bartlett and Erastus Douglas Bartlett. Doug worked several jobs after his service in the army, then he worked 35 years at Dixie Cup until his retirement. He was a longtime member of West Ark Church of Christ. 

Doug is survived by his daughter, Deborah Wofford of Fort Smith; granddaughter, Carrie Lee Graves; four great-grandchildren, Angela Chae Ledbetter and husband Noah; Hailee Charee Denton and fiance J.T. Williams; Tara Chareece Williams and husband Ty; and Blayde Douglas Denton; four great-great grandchildren, Emilee; Tristan; Isabella; and Lilah Jai. He is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Pamela Watlington and husband Hank; a great-niece, Hannah Sandifer and husband Travis; two great-great nephews, Navy and Boone; and one great-great niece, Willa Sandifer.

Doug was preceded in death by the love of his life Claretta, and they enjoyed 72 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Erastus and Mary Bartlett; four brothers, Erastus (Junior); Roy; Colbert (Cob); Chester (Check); and Russell; and three sisters, Coye Smith; Merle Bartlett; and Cleta Evans.

A Funeral Service officiated by Larry Todd will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Lewis Funeral Chapel, located at 4817 Kelley Hwy in Fort Smith, AR 72904. Interment will follow the service at Srygley Cemetery in Coal Hill, Arkansas. Family will greet friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM prior to the service on Saturday. Pallbearers will be Hank Watlington, Travis Sandifer, Navy Sandifer, Noah Ledbetter, Ty Williams, J.T. Williams, and Blayde Denton.
