Rosemary Smalley

Rosemary Smalley, age 79, passed away on April 13, 2026. She was born on September 20, 1946, in Fort Smith to Albert McCaslin and Edna (Gregory) McCaslin.

Rosemary married the love of her life, Johnny Ray Smalley, and they shared many blessed years together. She worked for several years at Revelation Bible Store in Fort Smith, where she enjoyed being surrounded by her faith and serving others. Faith was the cornerstone of Rosemary’s life, and she was a devoted believer of the Assembly of God faith. She found great joy in studying her Bible, and she loved playing the piano and singing, both at church and more recently at the nursing home where she resided.

In her quieter moments, Rosemary enjoyed journaling and researching her family’s genealogy. What began as an interest grew into a meaningful hobby in her retirement, as she took great pride in preserving her family’s history. Above all, Rosemary’s son was her world, and she loved him deeply. She cherished time with her family, and just a day before her passing, she was blessed with a wonderful visit with her son and loved ones. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her love for God, and her heartfelt desire to share that love with others.

Rosemary is survived by her son, David and wife Terri; three grandchildren, Greg, Gary, and Carrie Swinsco; eight great-grandchildren; her siblings, Sue Lokey, and Robert McCaslin and wife Barbara; as well as four nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Edna McCaslin; her beloved husband, Johnny Smalley; and her brother-in-law, Jack Lokey.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith. A committal at Fort Smith National Cemetery will take place at 1:00 p.m. following the service, where Rosemary will be laid to rest with her husband, Johnny. Anna Lowe will officiate. Services are entrusted to Lewis Funeral Chapel.
