Russell "Rusty" Dean Martin

Russell Dean "Rusty" Martin, 67 of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away on May 2, 2025. Rusty was born on June 29, 1957, in Fort Smith to Virginia (Hodges) and Jimmie Martin Jr.

Rusty dedicated most of his life to the construction industry, where his hard work, skill, and strong work ethic earned him the respect of his coworkers and community. Outside of his career, Rusty was a passionate reader with a love for learning, and he especially enjoyed watching Jeopardy, rarely missing an episode.

Rusty will be fondly remembered as a loving and loyal companion, a supportive and caring brother, and a cherished uncle who always had time for his nieces and nephews. His kindness, sense of humor, and generous spirit touched the lives of all who knew him. Rusty’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will miss him dearly.

Rusty is survived by his loving companion, Tammy Bartlett; his sister, Linda C. King; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in passing by his beloved parents, Virginia (Hodges) and Jimmie Martin Jr. and his five brothers; Jimmy Belue, Gary Martin, Bobby Martin, Ricky Martin, and Randy Martin.

There will be a graveside memorial service at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 17 at Oak Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Cremation is under the care of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
