Sherry "Sher" Dianne Hinshaw

Sherry "Sher" Dianne Hinshaw, age 76, passed away peacefully in her home on November 20, 2025 in Van Buren, Arkansas. Sher was born on December 20, 1948, in Hot Springs, AR to Colene Hinshaw (McKinnon) and Jerry Hinshaw. She graduated from Putnam High School and later attended the University of Oklahoma. Sher worked for Ashland Performance Materials as a dedicated employee for many years. As an accomplished singer and guitarist in her earlier years, she opened an under 21 club in downtown Fort Smith, AR, where young adults could listen to and play music.
 
Her generous nature showed in her devotion to those around her. As an animal lover, if there ever was an animal in need, she always helped in any way possible. She enjoyed singing, playing guitar, watching movies, traveling, camping, and spoiling her cats and dogs. Her sense of humor was only matched by her quick wit. Sher was the natural matriarch of her family, and was well loved by a host of family and friends.
 
She is survived by her three children, Andrew Hinshaw and his wife Annette of Tulsa, OK, April Hinshaw and her husband Thomas Toland Jr. of Mio, MI, and Leif Hinshaw of Fayetteville, AR. She is also survived by one grandson, Ramsey Hinshaw of Tulsa, OK; her siblings, Janice Hinshaw of Mountain Pine, AR and Sharon Brasher of Van Buren, AR; her niece, Ciara Kaiser of Pocola, OK; her nephew, Zachary Kaiser of Wright City, OK; and her cousin, Kay Lynch of Mountain Pine, AR.
 
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ruth Hinshaw; her mother, Colene Hinshaw; and her father, Jerry Hinshaw. 
 
A Celebration of Life is planned for April of 2026 near Hot Springs, AR, with details to follow at a later time. Cremation is under the thoughtful direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
